Caring for a parent: organising everyday life together
Balancing work, family and caring for a parent takes a lot. Start with an overview rather than a perfect plan.
What does your parent actually need?
Talk together about what your parent can still do independently and where help is welcome. Separate personal care, household tasks, appointments and companionship. This shows which tasks you can take on and which you want to share.
Make one week visible
For a few days, note when you help and what you do. Include breaks, working hours and help from others. This overview is a useful conversation starter, not a replacement for a professional assessment.
Consider pay and relief together
Employment may provide financial recognition. At the same time, ask who can step in if you are unavailable. Discuss support, courses and replacement care as openly as pay. Pflegeklar helps you organise these questions.
